National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) is dedicated to the empowerment of battered women and their children and to the elimination of personal and societal violence in the lives of women and their children.

National Domestic Violence Hotline

Each month, nearly 11,000 callers - victims of domestic violence, their families and friends across the U.S. - receive crisis intervention, referrals, information and support in many languages. The National Domestic Violence Hotline links individuals to help in their area using a nationwide database that includes detailed information on domestic violence shelters, other emergency shelters, legal advocacy and assistance programs, and social service programs.

Victim Services Domestic Violence Shelter Tour

This web site allows you to go through a real shelter and see what it is like inside. It also talks to women who have been inside the shelter to see how it helped them to get away from their abusers and how it changed their lives. This site also contains information to help prevent domestic violence, what to look for and how to stop domestic violence.

NOW and Violence Against Women

The National Orginization for women fight against violence for women. Here you can see what issues they are currently working on the actions that have taken place and it'll also show how you can take action as well.

Domestic Violence Home Page

The American Bar Association Commission on Domestic Violence web site helps you find dedicated lawyers to help end domestic violence and provides information about Domestic Violence. A family lawyer can help clients and their children obtain protection orders, custody decrees, child support, and divorce and separation agreements that will protect the family's safety. A tax lawyer can help a client who has been coerced by a batterer into signing fraudulent tax returns. An estate planning specialist can help a client develop a safety plan to minimize future violence that addresses the victim's need for financial independence from the batterer. Even if you are not able to take on pro bono cases at this time, consider volunteering at a shelter, answering phones on a hotline, or helping individuals file civil protection orders once a week or even once a month. There are many ways that lawyers can volunteer their time and expertise. Use your law degree to make a difference.

Jane Doe, Inc

Jane Doe Inc., Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence is the name of a new organization formed by the merger between the Massachusetts Coalition of Battered Women Service Groups and the Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault on July 1, 1998. This web site has a lot of statistics and brings the impact of domestic violence to you. It shows that the women of Massachusetts who did suffer had names and they weren't only statistics.

Domestic Violence Handbook was created through the efforts of The Oakland County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council.

Violence Against Women Office

About The Violence Against Women Office The Violence Against Women Office of the Office of Justice Programs, United States Department of Justice was created in 1995 to implement the 1994 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and to lead the national effort to stop domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking of women.
