Financial Help for Victims of Crime |

Our staff can assist innocent victims of crime apply for financial assistance under the Crime Victim Compensation program.
The Crime Victim Compensation Program is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The State of Wisconsin reimburses crime victims who suffer medical expenses and lost wages that are not covered by insurance, public funds or other available sources.
To be compensated, victims must report the crime to law enforcement within five days of the occurrence and file an application for compensation within one year of the crime. Victims must also cooperate with the investigation and prosecution of the crime.
